La Colegiata de Santa Maria de Cervera recupera sus matracas por Semana Santa

La Colegiata de Santa Maria de Cervera ha recupera sus matracas por Semana Santa, unas campanas de madera únicas en Cataluña, coincidiendo con las celebraciones religiosas de estos días de la Semana Santa.
Ayer Viernes Santo y en la noche de esta sábado de la Vigilia Pascual, en el campanario de la Colegiata de Santa María de Cervera suenan por vez primera las restauradas matracas, un elemento original de madera que se ha recuperado en este año 2009 en la capital de la Segarra leridana.
Estas matracas están compuestas por una gran caja de resonancia de forma octogonal y construida de madera, la cual es golpeada por unos pequeños martillos o mazos también de madera situados en el exterior para que suenen mejor.
Esta matraca produce un sonido especial potente si bien menos brillante que el metálico de las campanas que " es como una señal de la austeridad en estas fechas de luto para la Iglesia ", señala Xavier Joan, que es el campanero mayor de la Parroquial de Cervera.
En el proyecto de su recuperación la Pahería de Cervera ha aportado la cifra de un millar de euros, para que estas peculiar percusión vuelva a sonar desde el campanario.
El trabajo de recuperación de estas matracas se han realizado bajo la dirección de los arquitectos Manuel Vilarrubies y Galdrich Santana.
Según ha explicado a Efe, Carmen Bergés, directora del Museu Comarcal de Cervera " estas matracas han sido reconstruidas a imagen y semejanza de las primitivas con ocasión de haber sido desmontadas el año pasado con motivo de la restauración del campanario ".
Las fuentes documentales recogen que su primitiva colocación es originaria de la época medieval, en el año 1471, y sólo se hacían sonar en estos Días Santos como señal distintiva especial de la Semana Santa en cuyas fechas no pueden sonar las campanas .
Las matracas antiguas originales el siglo XV , del que ahora se ha hecho su reproducción, podrán visitarse en las dependencias del citado museo donde han quedado depositadas para su exposición permanente al público.
Por otra parte, algunos de estos singulares ejemplares todavía subsisten si bien en estado deteriorado, como en el templo de San Pablo de Zaragoza y en la Catedral de Roda de Isábena.
